Le Couvent B&B rooms, garden and pool

Le Couvent was built over time. The part beneath the Madonna in about 1650, and the bit that looks like an old French farmhouse was tacked on a century later. It has been a religious school, a rest home and, latterly, a working convent. For the past seven years it has been the home of Lizzie Betts-Gosling and Ali Ballantyne and a bed and breakfast between May and the last weekend of September each year.

We have 4 double bedrooms (2 of which can be twins) and 1 single bedroom all with long, shuttered windows. Crisp, white sheets, original modern art and pool and bathroom towels come as standard. In your room you'll find a complimentary bottle of wine, lots of books and a hairdryer, along with a guide to excellent Languedoc walks and lots of other useful information about Roujan, nearby Pezenas, Beziers and Montpellier.

Bedroom 1 - The Grey Bedroom - Double/Twin: Room size: 18.5 square metres including ensuite shower room with shower, handbasin and loo.

Bed: European super king - 1.9m x 1.9m or two singles of .95m x 1.90m + hypoallergenic pillows. The two beds zip together to make one large bed. This bed has a mattress cover to ensure you do not feel the join. You'll sleep like a top on these great big interior sprung beds.
Bedroom 2 - The Orange Bedroom - Double/Twin: Room size: 19.5 square metres including ensuite shower room with shower, handbasin and loo.

Bed: European super king - 1.9m x 1.9m or two singles of .95m x 1.90m + hypoallergenic pillows. The two beds zip together to make one large bed. This bed has a mattress cover to ensure you do not feel the join. You'll sleep like a top on these great big interior sprung beds!
Bedroom 3 - The Yellow Bedroom - Single: Room size: 13.5 square metres including private shower room with shower, handbasin and loo.

Bed: Large single - 1.2m x 1.9m + hypoallergenic pillows
Bedroom 4 - The Blue Bedroom - Double: Room size: 20.8 square metres including ensuite shower room with shower, handbasin and loo.

Bed: European king - 1.5m x 1.9m + hypoallergenic pillows
Bedroom 5 - The Green Bedroom - Double: Room size: 19.7 square metres including ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, handbasin and loo.

Bed: European double - 1.4m x 2m + hypoallergenic pillows
The Convent Garden & Pool: Le Couvent is in the heart of the village, yet has a beautiful walled garden on two levels. The lower courtyard has several sitting areas and is a flower-fest during Spring and Summer.

The UV treated pool is on the upper level of the garden. There is a solar heated shower, ample sunbeds and spaces to be in the shade to snooze, paint or read if you prefer. The upper garden is choc full of flowers and trees and is completely secluded.
